Peachtree Dekalb Airport

On Tuesday we went with Bebe to Peachtree Dekalb Airport. I am pretty sure somewhere in the archives of the blog we took picture of Callie here. Anyway, it's a great spot for kids. You can enjoy the playground all the while watching planes take off and land. It was a bright, sunny day hence the squinting eyes.

Coleman loved watching the planes! He was saying "Airplane take off."
In other news, we just found a place to live! We feel like the Lord really answered our prayers and provided a good place. It's a little townhouse. The rent is a great price, and the best thing is it is super close to Charlie's work. We are thankful. I am sure we will eventually post pictures, but we probably won't move til the end of August.

Lake Lure

This past weekend we went on a little trip with my sister and father (Grandpa) to Lake Lure. I feel like we failed at capturing the weekend with pictures. We got no pictures with my Dad at all! Oops. We also took no pictures of the actual lake. All these shots are from the resort that we had access to. It had a great pool, and later in the evening we went back and played putt putt. Gami and Jane even came up to enjoy the day on Saturday with us. We had a great time. Coleman especially loved his watermelon.

I have to comment on this guy. Though he has been a handful lately (demonstrating his freedom to use the word, no), he is also really cute. His language has exploded in the past month and a half. He talks about cars and trucks all the time! He surprises us daily with new things he is saying. He is even stringing 4 word sentences together. For instance this afternoon when Bebe got in the car with us he said, "Bebe come car too." He will also say (most of the time when I tell him something) "O.K. Mom" or "O.K. Dad"

This past week Callie has been taking swimming lessons from a supporter/friend who teaches young children to swim. It has been great. He has been so kind to do it for free for us. If you look hard, you can see her on the noodle. Today she swam the full length of the pool, only stopping once in the middle for 5 seconds. We are so proud of her!

Cow Appreciation and Blueberry Picking

This past week we were basically adjusting to our new "normal." By that, I mean that Charlie was getting used to being at work full time while the kids and I were getting used to not seeing Daddy til late afternoon. All in all it was a good week. Here's Coleman at Richard's five and dime store riding the horse.

my two little cows dressed up for chick-fil-a. For those who don't know, Chick-fil-a gives away free meals to anyone dressed like a cow on Cow Appreciation Day (this past friday). We had heard that lunch could get pretty crazy with the lines and all. We decided to enjoy 3 free breakfast meals.

And, we went blueberry picking this past Saturday. I have been wanting to do this all summer. I don't know why I get such a kick out of picking fruit. I think I just like farms and I like the kids learning where food comes from. Callie and Coleman had a blast. We hit a rough patch in the middle of our time though. Coleman had eaten way more than his fair share of blueberries and we had to cut him off. Needless to say (b/c our boy LOVES his food) that did not go over so well. However we persevered and eventually he learned we weren't giving in and he started putting his blueberries in the bucket. It was a great little farm in forysth county. It was only their 2nd year, hence the fact that the blueberry bushes are so small. Their blueberries are 100% organic, so it's nice to know you aren't eating chemicals when you eat them off the bush.

New Van

First off here are a couple of shots from our "indoor" fourth of July party. Charlie's 1st cousin and her family joined us. Here is Callie with baby Riley. The second shot is Callie with Reagan. Coleman was already napping by the time we thought about taking the camera out. Oh well.

In other big news, we got ourselves a new car. Our insurance check came right around the time that we found what we felt was a good deal. So, our new van (looks very similar to the old one) is a Honda Odyssey. We feel like we're cheating on Toyota but oh well. There weren't many Sienna's on the market. While its still different getting used to a new car, we're really quite thankful. The Lord has provided us with what we believe is a comparable car to what we had. The best thing is we paid nothing out of pocket! Lord, keep us safe on the road!

Biking, Tennis, and Running the Bases

We have taken a few videos of our time in Atlanta so far. Callie is getting better at riding her bike: She also has learned how to hit a tennis ball this summer: With her hello kitty racket:
We spent the final inning at the Braves game with the kids running the bases at "Sky Field" on top of the Braves stadium. Callie probably did this about 15 times. We missed some of the Braves 7 run inning to cap off the comeback victory, but it was worth it.
Here's Callie running: Of course when Coleman saw Callie run, he had to try himself:
