Tulips

Callie loves to smell the tulips in our front yard. She also would love to grab the blooms and pull them off if I would let her. We've still been spending a lot of time outside and it's been wonderful. We're enjoying our spring to the fullest. I feel like Callie is developing so fast these days. It's especially noticeable in her language. I feel like she says a new word each day. Some of her favorite words right now are car (ca), dog(duh), bow (as in hairbow), cooker (as in rice cooker), snack (nack), more (mah), she's been saying more a lot lately, take note of her little gut in the first picture, nose (noh), knee (ee), eye (ay). This is just to name a few.

Wedding

This past weekend we went to a wedding between two of our friends up here. It was a lot of fun to reconnect with some friends/students that graduated a couple of years ago. Callie enjoyed her time at the wedding, well once she got some food in her at least. The reception was a dinner reception and we didn't get to the dinner part quite as quickly as I had anticipated. Thus, I had a cranky girl on my hands for the first little bit. Finally, I flagged down a waiter that brought me 4 packets of saltines all of which Callie devoured. Then, we had to borrow half of a PB & J from Annie. Then, finally, the food begins to come. Callie eats basically a whole plate of fruit, then moves on to chicken fingers, french fries dipped in Ketchup, and applesauce. So, after all that she was satisfied and wanted to run around and play with Annie and Maddux. All in all it was a fun evening. Thank you Ricky and Lizzie for letting us be a part of the celebration.

Here is Callie in her dress that Charlie bought for her during "Daddy Daughter" weekend. I think it's adorable. My husband has good taste!

The old crew, minus Ellie Jane. At one point, they were all three dancing on the
dance floor.

Just the three of us!

The Park

The weather has continued to be nice here, so we headed to the park a couple of times this week. On thursday, Lindsey, Ellie Jane (21mos), John (2 mos), Holly, and baby Evy (2mo) joined us at the park by our house. We had lots of fun and managed to snap a few quick pics of our time. It was great to see Evy because we had not seen her since just a few days after she was born. She has grown a lot! We didn't get a picture with John, so we'll have to make that a goal for next time.

Last Week

I chose this picture because I thought it best summarized our last week and explains why we don't have anything new to post. We spent much time (esp. last monday night and tuesday) in this room of the house. We all managed to get the stomach bug within a few hours of each other on Monday. First Charlie started throwing up, then an hour later Callie started throwing up, and finally I decided to join in on the fun and I started throwing up an hour after that. We were all up all night long throwing up (and me well into the next day). This bug did a number on our stomachs and it has taken almost a week for us to all feel like we're completely over it. So, hopefully this week we'll have some more fun outings to document. It continues to be a beautiful spring here in Minnesota. We plan on being outside as much as possible.

Callie's First Easter Egg Hunt

We woke up Sunday morning and hid a few eggs in the backyard for Callie to find and put in her basket. She seemed to get the hang of it after the first egg or two. After church and an afternoon nap, we headed to our friends' house for another Easter egg hunt and some good food. The downside to the whole day was that all three of us ended up getting sick the next day. One of Callie's friends was sick and it got passed on to all of us and 5 other people that were at the Easter party. But aside from that, it was a great Easter together.
The whole family.

Spring Fever!

Let me tell you about our weather, well it's been AMAZING!! Seriously, the warmest March we've ever experienced, probably one of the warmest marches on record for Minnesota. We actually didn't get a drop of snow the whole month! I am not complaining about that one bit (sorry for all you winter lovers). In fact, it's been over 100 years since the twin cities has seen a march with no snow. Glad to be a part of this spring. Callie and I have been making the most of it. It's been in the upper 70s the past few days and we've spent tons of time outside. Some of the flowers on the side of my house are coming up and Callie is offering her assistance with the watering.
