2 months old

So we are a day late on this post, but Callie turned 2 months old yesterday (2/24/09). We had to take her to get her shots. She cried when they stuck her with the needle, but after they took it out she almost stopped crying instantly. She is a tough girl. Here are some pictures to show her growth over the past 2 months:

Fun in the South

we're still enjoying our time in the south. It has been great seeing family, and enjoying warm weather. Callie has even been able to go on a couple of walks since we've been down here. We're currently still in Atlanta, hoping to get some more support contacts here. Sometime in the next week or week and a half we will be heading to Spartanburg. More pictures to come then!

Chick-Fil-A and Trip Down South

Being from Minnesota, Callie had not had the privilege of going to Chick-Fil-A yet. But we went to the Chick-Fil-A in Dalton, Ga for her first experience of the great establishment. We took this picture and decided that she should be part of their next advertising campaign.

The trip down was an adventure, but it had nothing to do with Callie. She was great and hardly cried at all. She slept almost the whole way. The adventure came when we were unable to get a hotel room in Kentucky because the ice storm had moved just about every Kentucky resident into the hotels. We had to drive all the way to Nashville, TN until 2AM to find a place to stay. But we finally made it to Atlanta safe and sound on Friday afternoon. We took these pictures from our time at my parents' house. She is getting more and more fun for us to be around and interact with. She is so aware of the people that are around her. She is beginning to smile more and more. We are planning to go on our first walk with her this afternoon. It has been fun to actually take her outside in this warmer, southern weather.

2 of the greatest baby inventions

The swing and the bouncy seat are 2 of the greatest inventions for babies (at least we think so). Callie loves both of hers. What makes it even better is that we paid a grand total of $9 for both of them at garage sales this past summer. If she is a little fussy, but not ready for a nap, we can put her in one of these two things and she becomes as content as can be.
She is also becoming more aware of her surroundings and will follow Jennifer and I around the room with her eyes most of the time. While the first few weeks were hard and full of much frustration, we are enjoying her more and more each day.
