Summertime

Here are some photos from the past month or so. The majority of the pictures are either from the lake on the 4th of July or the beach. The pictures jump back and forth between to the two places. I'm not sure why they upload this way, but I apologize for being too lazy to fix it. We have really had a wonderful summer despite COVID and all the craziness that has ensued from that. I'm thankful to the Lord for the health that our family has had during this season.

Winter Getaway and Coronavirus Days

Before I post pictures from our winter trip, I wanted to post a few pictures from the Christmas season. We did a poor job of taking pictures with family over Christmas. I guess you could say we were living in the moment! We did, however, manage to get a few pictures around the Christmas season.

Over MLK weekend, we decided (somewhat last minute) to fly up to NY to see my sister. I'm so glad that we did. It was a wonderful weekend with Aunt Laura and Uncle Trip. We had a snowstorm (something all of us were hoping for) that allowed us to go sledding. We went to Cooperstown to the Baseball Hall of Fame, and we went to Lake Placid in the Adirondacks. Again, I feel like we didn't do the best job getting pictures with family. But, if you squint, you can see Uncle Trip and Aunt Laura in one of the sledding pictures. It was a fun trip... just the winter getaway that we were hoping for.

To say our Spring has been nothing like what we pictured would be a massive understatement. We had planned to be finishing up the school year with various activities, planning a community-wide Easter egg hunt with our church, and toting all 4 kids around to various ball fields while the older 3 played sports. But God has had other plans and I'm fighting tooth and nail to see His goodness in a strange, hard, and uncertain season. Times like these reveal so clearly how we all have "misplaced hope." We hope in our plans or our "secure" jobs, and yet none of those things are truly lasting. I am very thankful for the beautiful weather we have been having. Our kids have spent a ton of time outdoors, and I would have it no other way. It is nice to not be rushing around from activity to activity. We've especially enjoyed walking on the riverwalk trail by our house. The wildflowers were beautiful the other day!
