Atlanta

Here are a bunch of pictures from our time in Atlanta. They are pretty self explanatory. They are either shots from around the house, celebrating Charlie's birthday, or attending the Braves game. We've had a great first (we come again in July) visit.

Callie Reading to Coleman

The other day Callie and Coleman were hanging out in their room together. Callie started reading him some of her books. We caught the tail end of it on video.

Family Zoo Trip

*real quick, one of you asked for the pumpkin cinnamon roll recipe. I added it in the comments of the previous post. We went on our first, family of four zoo trip last week. It was a beautiful day and we really had a great time. We have this wonderful, free zoo only 15 minutes from our house. It's so nice because you don't feel like you have to stay forever to get your money's worth. This particular time we did something fun and different with Callie. Charlie made her a "check off" sheet to take to the zoo. It listed certain animals we would see on one side. Then, on the other side it had things for her to circle like "How many legs does this animal have 2, 4, or 6? Or, what color is it? or does it have a tail, yes or no? She loved circling things off. I think it made her feel important. It was cute seeing her walk around the zoo with her pen and paper!

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

Callie was my little helper the other day. I found a recipe for pumpkin cinnamon rolls (that are really low fat) that we like. It's a little tedious making from scratch cinnamon rolls but it's also kinda fun. I had Callie help me for the fun part. She even got her little apron and rolling pin from her pretend kitchen. Sweet memories (no pun intended).

6 Months

Our 6 month old in his Falcon's gear. Coleman had his 6 month check today. We are thankful to the Lord for our healthy boy. His genetics are catching up with him though. He has dropped to the 33% in weight and 69% in height. He has more than doubled his birth weight though. I know that's a mile marker that most babies reach by the 6 month mark. I guess he is still a little tall for his age but he is no longer a chunky monkey.
Good shot of him sitting up. He has done a good job with his sitting lately. The doctor said he thought he was sitting up really well for his age. It's funny, you'd think with being such a good sitter, that he'd be taking off with eating solids. He is getting the hang of them but very slowly. He is also (as of the past 2 weeks) sleeping through the night. He is no longer swaddled at all, and is really starting to take to his lovie at bed and nap times.
Sweet brother/sister moment

A few videos

Callie's latest "trick" has been learning how to slide down the pole in the park. She loves doing it even though it makes her mom nervous (as you can hear in the video). She has gotten really good at it and wants to do it over and over. We took Callie to observe a preschool last week that she will be attending 2 days a week starting in the Fall. She had a great time visiting Mrs. Nelson's class. She got to participate in some of the activities they did. Here's a pretty good laugh from coleman

Coleman Starts Eating

Coleman has started eating within the past two weeks. He seems to enjoy eating for the most part. He has had some rice cereal and a little avocado. We have a feeling that he will be a little more stubborn than Callie with his eating (but that's not saying much because Callie ate anything and everything...and she still does). Here is a video of him eating some rice cereal.

Picnic at the Park

This past monday we had a fun playdate at the park with Samm, Lisa, Holly, and all their girls. Coleman was the only male in attendance. It was fun despite the cooler weather. We went to the park right by one of the lakes near our house. Holly was sweet and brought chicken pasta salad for everyone. Note that Coleman is in a little "eating seat." He has officially started solids (more to come on that later). You can see all the kids except Lucy who I think is being blocked by Coleman. I literally had 2 seconds to snap the picture. The wind, combined with light paper plates, combined with the fact that 3 of our kids (callie included) just fell right off the picnic table bench, made for a chaotic lunch.
Big boy can ride in the front of the grocery cart now.
Sweet Callie (well most of the time). Things that Callie is into these days include...lots of coloring, writing her name and random letters, playing by herself in her playroom, eating like a teenage boy, conquering every apparatus at the playground, picking out your clothes everyday, picking out which dress I should wear to church, telling me when you don't think MY hair looks good (I was not ready for that!), twirling in your princess dress, and dancing. I could go on I am sure, but this will suffice for now.
