Coleman's Dedication

Last weekend while my friend was in town we had Coleman dedicated. I worked out great because she was able to take some pictures. You can tell from this first picture that Coleman was really tired. He could barely keep his eyes open. He looks a little sad, but it's cause he was exhausted. It's ok though, I'll take it over him crying through the whole thing. He did well.

Special Weekend

Disclaimer: These pictures are somewhat out of the order in which they occurred. I was just too lazy to switch them all around.
So, we had a really fun weekend. A dear college friend of mine, Melissa, came all the way from Philly to visit! It was so much fun having her here. Callie had met her this past summer and remembered her. She was excited to have "Moj" around too. The weekend was full of fun. On Saturday, we went to the mall of America. We got to enjoy some free rides. Callie had a blast and probably the highlight was riding "Swiper's cars" (which actually went kinda fast) with Melissa. She was such a big girl. I could tell a big difference from the last time that we went on rides at the mall. In previous times, we've had to encourage her to ride. This time she was very eager.

She is not riding by herself. Those are my legs below the Zebra. My face didn't quite make the picture.

This guy was happy (until the very end).

Before the mall, we enjoyed a Very cheap breakfast at Ikea. They basically give their food away. We got 4 breakfast plates, 1 waffle, 2 orders of swedish pancakes, and 2 coffees for only $7. Can't beat that!

On Friday after Melissa arrived, I had to take her to do something very Minnesotan. No, we didn't ice fish in this ice fishing house, but we did walk across the lake. I was a little nervous b/c this winter has been so mild. But, I felt better when I saw that ice fishing houses were still up. Then I saw an SUV parked in the middle of the lake and that completely eased my mind.

We had such a good time with you Moj! Thanks for coming all this way just to see us!

Daddy Daughter Date

The other week, Charlie took Callie on a daddy daughter date. I love that he does this and can't wait to see how they change over the years and she get older. Now, their dates have mostly consisted of going to McDonalds for smoothies and video games (ours has little video games you can play). Callie really looks forward to these times.

By default, I got to spend some mama/son time with this little guy.

Charlie and Callie surprised me with flowers and chocolate when they returned from their date. It was an early birthday present (my birthday was the next day). Callie took this picture of the two of us with the flowers. I think it's the first real picture she has taken (with the i phone for sure). We thought she did a good job. Funny to see us from her perspective!

From My Journal

Just wanted to share this little excerpt from my journal tonight. I feel like if I blog about this, I am more likely to remember these sweet moments years later.

"Father,
I feel so richly blessed. Callie was so sweet tonight as I was putting her down, blowing kisses and catching mine. She said, "I love you" over and over, then she told me I was her "best girl." I had recently told her the same. Coleman had the sweetest smiles for me after I nursed him. I put him down, he inserted his thumb, and sucked his way off to sleep. Lord, thank you. Thank you for all your gifts...all your "blood bought gifts." Anything that I get to enjoy in this life and in the eternal life to come, is a gift from you Lord Jesus...a gift I can enjoy because you purchased it for me on the cross. Would you keep us to the end; keep us for eternity with you."

3 Months

Coleman is officially three months! So, to celebrate, we pulled out the bumbo. It was around three months when Callie started sitting in the bumbo. He is doing ok with it. He doesn't want to sit in it for super long stretches. Now at three months Coleman smiles a lot, babbles, reaches for things, is starting to grab onto my shirt when he nurses or reach towards my face. He's not showing any major signs of being ready to roll over. If I remember correctly, Callie was about 3 1/2 months before she started rolling over. I'm guessing he'll be a little longer. In fact, I've heard that on the whole boys develop slower than girls. I'd love to hear any thoughts/comments about others' experiences if they would agree with that statement. He is sleeping longer at night and lately has only been waking up once to eat. I have this funny feeling that now that I said that he'll go back to waking up twice a night. Hope I'm not about to eat my words.

Love this picture. It looks like Callie is teaching him all he needs to know and he's just soaking it in.

Watching tv.
