Time At The Beach

We were down at our Summer Training Project for two weeks in Myrtle Beach. It was a great time spent with students. We are studying the book of Philippians this summer while reading DA Carson's book, Basics for Believers. The students are really enjoying learning from both of the books. A big theme in Philippians so far has been Paul's contentment in every circumstance because the gospel is advancing through his life and the life of others. Our prayer for our students this summer has been that they would hold fast to the gospel (Philippians 2:17) and that they would grow in that truth for the rest of their lives. For more detailed updates you can visit our STP blog or our STP page on facebook. Also, here is a link to a cool video testimony from a guy named Chris who is at our project this summer.

Callie also had a great time at the beach. She loved hanging out with her friends and playing in the ocean. Here are some pictures from our time at the beach:

Callie and Lillian (her friend from Michigan State) had a good time pushing each other around in this stroller

And this is the only shot we got of the whole family on the beach. We were too lazy to ask someone else to take it for us.

Time with the Williamsons

Last week our friends, the Williamsons, had us over for dinner. our entertainment for the night was watching Callie and Ellie Jane play together. They had a tub of water set out and the girls played in it. Callie got soaking wet, so we had to take all of her clothes off except her diaper. This is the result:
Ellie Jane's hair had been pulled back all day. When they took the hairband out, this was the result.

With this short hair and no clothes on, she really looks like a boy. This is our daughter, we promise.

Right before this, Ellie Jane just stuck her hand out asking Callie to hold it. It was so cute as they walked around the yard and chased ducks together like this.

She will kill us when she is older and finds out we posted this on the internet for the world to see.

"Keys! Keys!"

Callie has found a new game to play the past few days. She loves taking her little stool over to the door, then asking us for the keys, and then she starts sticking the key in the lock and taking it out over and over again. She has the best time doing this. It is kind of like a puzzle of sorts for her.

Look at her concentration on these next two shots.

She's a happy girl.

We leave early tomorrow morning for the Summer Training Project. Please pray for us on our long car ride. We dont know how much Callie is going to like being in a car for 22 hours over the next 3 days. Also, pray for our time at the project over the next 2 weeks with students. We will be sure to update with some pictures. Also you can check out our STP facebook page for updates on the project

Trip to Stillwater

A couple of weeks ago we took a trip with our friends the Williamsons. They have a daughter, Ellie Jane, and a son, John. Callie has really enjoyed playing a lot with Ellie Jane over the past couple of weeks. We walked around the old town of Stillwater and then had a small picnic by the river. It was a fun little day trip.
Here is the whole family by the St. Croix river.

Callie and Ellie Jane in the double stroller. This stroller came in handy for this day.

Every year when all the snow and ice melt, the river floods. This is Charlie and Callie looking at the river up on the sidewalk. As much as Callie wanted to play in the water, we thought that wouldn't be the best idea.

Before we left, Callie chased some ducks through the Williamson's front yard

Callie's Swing and Ride

Callie loves to swing and she loves this new game we made up called "ride." She could do each for hours. (unfortunately, we cannot).
We discovered the "ride" game when our friends James Gisler and Chris Earl were over for dinner last week. We all got the biggest kick out of watching her enjoy it so much.
