Our Home is Atlanta

It has been a whirlwind of a week. We have been on the phone a ton the past few days, mostly to car insurance companies. Our van is completely totaled. We are praying that the insurance will treat us fairly and give us a good price for our car. We will see. In other big news the Lord provided a job for Charlie! He received a good job offer from a start up software company called Emergency Visions. They provide disaster relief software to clients such as the Red Cross. We are so thankful and can't believe that he starts on Tuesday! So, now that he has accepted this job, I guess it's official that our home is Atlanta! We celebrated at the Braves game this Saturday with Bebe and Papa. Enjoy the photos.

Beach Trip

We just got back to Atlanta having enjoyed a great trip to the beach. The first couple pictures are from the splash pad in Spartanburg. The kids and I went there a couple of days before going to the beach to see some of our family (whom we hadn't seen for six months).

We arrived at the beach. We started off our beach week with Debbie and Janet (my aunts) and my sister. Gami and Papa Phil switched out with Debbie and Janet half way through the week. It was a great way to split time in a condo.

The kids loved the beach. I was so thankful. Callie was still a little hesitant on the beach when she was the age Coleman is now. He however wasn't hesitant at all. He wanted to go deeper and deeper into the ocean.

One of our activities when Gami and Papa Phil visited was to go to the little amusement park up the beach from us. Despite Coleman's expression in the photo he really loved riding in the cars. He loved it so much that when we tried to get him to leave he started crying. What did we do? Well, we caved and let him ride again!

Callie and Janet

It was a great trip. There were two unfortunate incidents, however. The lesser of the two, was that I totally failed to take any pictures of the kids with Gami and Papa Phil. We won't forget that you guys were there! It was y'all who treated us to the beach trip in the first place. We are thankful. The second and greater of the unfortunate incidents was what happened on the car ride home. To put it in Callie's words, we got "bonked" by another car. We got "bonked" pretty good, so good in fact that I don't think our little Toyota Sienna will see anything but the junk yard. Praise the Lord no one was hurt. Basically, a car pulled out in front of me (totally didn't see me) on a 4 lane highway. I was probably going about 60mph and could not avoid slamming into the car. When we hit, the crash sent us across the highway through two lanes of oncoming traffic, finally landing us in a ditch on the other side of the road. Needless to say we were majorly shook up and praising God we didn't get slammed by another car in the oncoming traffic. We don't know the final outcome of the car yet. I suppose there's a chance they could fix it however the tow truck guy said he thought it was a goner. We will see. Thank you Lord that we are not in the hospital (and that the accident was Not my fault).

We did make it!

We did make it to Atlanta. The kids did great on the ride down, but we still had to overcome some obstacles. We drove through a horrible, severe storm in Missouri. It included torrential rain, hail, and 60 mph wind gusts. It was night time when we were driving through it, so that made it even worse. The next day was beautiful however we did get stuck in standstill traffic due to construction. I think we were just sitting on the interstate for 40 minutes. We were grateful to have made it safe and sound to Atlanta. I have not taken many pictures. I've been pretty busy setting up the house, going to and from the grocery store, and getting lost in Buckhead. Anyway, this first picture is of Callie and Coleman at church on sunday morning.

Callie (very very slowly) riding her bike. Ha Ha.

We managed to dig through some of Charlie's old baby pictures. We found some of him around the same age Coleman is now. We saw a resemblance, but they are far from looking just exactly alike.
