Aunt Laura's Visit

Last week was Aunt Laura's spring break and she decided to come visit us! We felt honored especially since NO ONE dreams of visiting Minnesota for their spring break. It was so nice to have my sister here and to watch Callie interact with her. Callie was seriously the most happy and content I've seen her in a long time. She loved having Aunt Laura as her playmate.

They did a lot of reading. Lots and lots of Dora stories!

Our time was really low key and laid back, but I promise, despite what the pictures seem to show, we did leave the couch. Laura and I had fun cooking together and we also enjoyed eating out (especially our favorite Thai place)! Thanks for making us a part of your spring break Aunt Laura. We miss you.

Old MacDonald Nap and Snow

Callie has really started to enjoy singing songs a lot. One of her favorites is "Old MacDonald." She seemed to enjoy singing with us until she got tired and wanted to take a nap.

It has been warming up a little bit, but there is still a TON of snow on the ground. Callie has enjoyed playing in it a little bit. Some of this video is dark since I was filming when we were outside, but hopefully you get the idea. The time at night was easily the most fun she has had playing in the snow. And eating it is still her favorite thing.

Winter Retreat

The other weekend we headed up north for our winter retreat with the students. The retreat was just Bethel and Northwestern students. Matt Reagan, one of the staff guys at the University came and gave the talks. He talked about the true nature of the gospel and "false gospels" that we are often tempted to believe. So many students seemed to impacted, their walks with Christ growing as a result of the retreat.

Callie enjoyed being there, though we mostly hung out in the back.

We were even able to get outside a little bit that Saturday because it wasn't all that cold. Though it's a bit of a hassle packing up a toddler for the weekend, it is so worth it to me to be able to be a part (and to have Callie be a part) of what God's doing on the campus.

Reading and Ring Around the Rosie

I forgot to post this video earlier of her playing ring around the rosie. She got distracted and forgot to fall down though:

This is one of our favorites of late. Callie is reading her book about Dora on a rainy day. She has heard us read it so much that she has memorized parts of the book. So this is her "reading" to herself:
