Callie around the house and with her push toy

She loves playing with drawers and looking at her reflection in the door of the oven. There are also some shots of her "walking" around with her push toy. As you saw in the last post, Jennifer's prediction is for her to walk at 11 1/2 months. I think it will be closer to 10-10 1/2 months.

The Push Toy

Right before Gami and Papa Phil left last week, we bought Callie a push toy. She is loving it. It's fun and frustrating. It's fun in the sense that we love watching her scoot along with it. It's frustrating because she'll go until she runs into the wall and then yell for us to come get her "un-stuck." Our house is not that big, so this happens constantly. We don't know if this toy will actually help her learn to walk any sooner. I guess that remains to be seen. Right now she has been standing on her own without holding onto anything. Of course she only does that for a little bit before she falls back down. My prediction is that she will walk around 11 1/2 months. We shall see!

Callie playing in the park

When Gami and Papa Phil were up here this past week, they took Callie to the park. They were able to swing, go down a slide, get in the water, and look at Callie's first waterfall. Here is some of the video footage:

Children's Museum

Every third Sunday at the Children's Museum in St. Paul is FREE! I have been wanting to go every since I heard about that great deal. Charlie, Callie, my mother, and myself went in the afternoon on sunday. Here is an array of pictures from the day.

Gami and Papa Phil

My Mom and Step Dad are in town. They have loved their time with Callie, and Callie has loved her time with them. These are the only pictures we have taken thus far because we've been busy working on projects around the house. They are helping Charlie and I put in a new kitchen floor! This was much needed. They are here until Wednesday, so I am sure there will be more pictures to come! Also, note Callie's little blue jean dress. Her Gami and Greatmama made it for her. We love it. Thank you, Gami and Greatmama.

New Friends

About a month ago, Callie and I were on a walk in our neighborhood. We met Mandy and her 18 month old son, Henry. We decided that since we were both stay-at-home Moms, we should get together sometime. Today we went on a walk (because it is still gorgeous every day, we've seriously had a solid month of beautiful weather). Callie and I invited them in to play with toys after our walk. This is a picture of her and Henry. As you can tell, we were having a hard time getting them to both look at the camera. I guess after a long walk, they were ready to focus on toys!

Callie Climbing the Stairs

with our supervision of course. If you listen closely, you can hear Wheel of Fortune in the background. This is easily Callie's favorite show. She likes watching the wheel spin around.

What's New With the Brookses

No, we didn't have another baby! We did however go to visit Callie's newest friend, Owen. Jared and Amy Wass work with our ministry by helping to mobilize seniors into the "real world." They just had a new baby this past tuesday.

Callie loves to see Dad off whenever he leaves to go meet students

Her new favorite finger food is broccoli! I'm happy that she likes it so much, but it is messier than you might think

We still love our bath times!

Just a couple random pics

Charlie and I almost forgot we had taken these pictures of Callie a couple of weeks ago. She is sporting her little, light weight hoodie that her great, great Aunt Jane gave her. We took these pictures during a cool spell we were having. Lately, however, it's been so nice and warm. Every day is sunny and in the upper 70's low 80's. I seriously can't remember the last cloudy day we've had (probably the day we took these pictures). Callie and I are getting outside every chance we get. Thanks for indulging me a little by letting me brag about how nice our weather is right now. Let's be honest there aren't a lot of times that I get to do this!

Como Zoo

Callie and I joined the other moms for a trip to Como zoo on Monday. Como is a free zoo and conservatory. It's such a nice thing to have close by.

Callie's stroller is parked up next to a big fish tank (though you can't tell b/c it's so dark). She seemed to enjoy looking at the fish. She also particularly liked the spider monkeys. They were swinging all over the place.

My favorite part was the butterfly garden. I have never been to one before. It was so neat. Butterflies were all over the place. There were all kinds and colors. One even landed on Callie for a few seconds. She didn't seem bothered by it.

Of course we had to get a picture of everyone at the end. It was off to naps after that!

After naptime, Callie and I went to the little park down the street. She seemed to really enjoy the swing.
