Watching TV and Check-up

Callie is addicted to the TV every time she is around it. We try to keep her from watching too much, but as you can see from the pictures, she will turn her head all the way around to catch whatever we are watching. She has really gotten into the NCAA basketball tournament and seems to follow the games very closely.

We took Callie to a 3-month check up yesterday. She weighs 10 pounds 15 ounces and is 23 inches long. She is not a big baby, but we aren't big people, so we are not surprised.

Back Home

We returned to Minneapolis on Monday afternoon. Since then we have been adjusting to life back in the Twin Cities (getting groceries, sorting through mail, attending staff meetings, meeting with students, etc.). Callie seems to be adjusting fairly well and likes sleeping in her crib again (she honestly doesn't know the difference). She turned 3 months on Tuesday, so here are a few updated pictures. For her three month birthday, we got her a Bumbo seat that she has enjoyed sitting in so far. We also had to get her a new bouncy seat since dad ran over her other one while we were in Greenville. We couldn't survive without it because she loves it so much.

Mountain House and SBP set-up

We were offered the opportunity to spend a night away at a mountain house in Ellijay this past week. It was a good time for the three of us to get away. We relaxed, played tennis, built a fire, and explored some of the mountain. We enjoyed this night away very much. Here are a few pictures from our first "family vacation":

Before heading to the mountain house, I went with some fellow staff members to Myrtle Beach on a set-up trip for our Summer Beach Project. We were there for two full days visiting a few churches and different businesses in the area trying to find a place for us to hold our large group meetings throughout the summerand places for our students to work. We found some a place to meet and a lot of potential jobs. We are trusting that God will provide jobs for the 120 students that we are praying will come to Summer Beach Project this year. Here is a picture of the four of us in Myrtle Beach (Andrew, me, Matt, and Paul):

2 more good ones

Jennifer was very jealous of this one because she wanted one with Callie smiling that much when she held her. It is clear who her favorite parent is thus far.

We have enjoyed taking Callie outside to spend time in this warm weather (a luxury we had not had when we were in Minnesota in January). Doesn't she look great with her sun hat on? She will sporting that a lot at beach project this summer.

A trip to Spartanburg

We recently returned from our trip to Spartanburg for a little over a week. We had a good time visiting with friends and family. Callie got to see much of her extended family. For those of you that do not know, Jennifer's family is almost all women, so it is only fitting that we had a girl. We took a picture of all of the ladies in the family (except Laura who was in Knoxville at the time). Here is that pic:

Not to worry, Aunt Laura did get to spend some time with Callie:

Callie also met her Grandpa for the first time:

On the support front, things are going pretty well. We have $3000 left to raise to make up our one-time deficit. We have been encouraged to see how God has been providing for our needs. We hope to be able to head back to Minneapolis on March 22nd. Please keep praying.
