Anniversary

This past Friday Charlie and I celebrated 5 years of marriage! This is the first anniversary that really felt like a milestone to me. I can't believe it's been 5 years already. Our primary means of celebration was enjoying a lunch at Fogo de Chao. I have never been and have really wanted to go. For those who don't know, Fogo is a Brazilian steakhouse, one of those restaurants where they bring all you can eat meat to your table. They also have an incredible salad bar. We had a hard time finding a babysitter, so Callie joined us on the outing. It wasn't bad b/c Callie was able to eat free. It was a really nice day and I am so thankful to God for 5 years of marriage to my dear husband!

Shots from the park

All this past week we had nice weather. I think spring has finally arrived. Here's to hoping there are no more days with highs in the 40s. Callie and I enjoyed a walk each day. Halfway through one of our walking paths is this park that's right on a lake. These are just a few random shots from the park.

Pardon the fact that this picture is off center. I was doing the best I could with the automatic timer and balancing the camera on the stroller. The tower you see on the other side of the lake is part of Northwestern's campus.

Play Date

Last Monday we had a little play date with Annie Reagan and Maddux Poteat. It was really fun. It had been a while since Callie had seen either of them, so she was excited to get to play with her friends. They had some "dress up" time.

This is Callie and Annie doing "ring-around-the-rosie." This is somewhat of a "go to" when the girls play together. They really like doing that.

We all headed over to the church to have lunch with some of the other staff. I love this picture of the 3 of them on the piano bench. They had quite a time banging out some tunes, that is until an elder kindly told us it might be better if the lovely music stopped. He he, oops! We can't wait to have a constant play date with these girls (and more) down at the beach project. Look out project, there are going to be 8 little girls running/crawling around there this summer!

Answered Prayer

Wanted you all to know that by God's grace our little family is growing. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and we are due to have another little one around November 2nd. We are all very excited as this is such an answer to prayer. Callie really seems to grasp what is going on. She frequently talks about her baby brother or sister that lives in my belly. She'll sometimes talk and say "hey" to my belly. I really think she will be a great big sister. We ask her if she thinks the baby is a boy or girl to which she usually replies "girl and it's my brother." She's a little confused. We then try to explain that if the baby is a girl then she's not having a brother and vice versa. We then say, "We don't know what the baby is yet, but God knows, and He knows what we need!" We have decided to find out via ultrasound this time, so stay tuned for a gender update come this summer. Please continue to pray for us and for a healthy pregnancy.

New Dress

Just wanted to get this picture up of Callie in her new dress. Her Gami made her another super cute dress to wear this summer. She wore it to church on Sunday and got lots of compliments. Thanks Gami for making her cute clothes! Stay tuned for pictures from her latest play dates with Maddux and Annie.

Easter

Sorry for our lack of blog posts lately. Part of the reason is that we were out of town for about 6 days. We got to go south for Easter. It was absolutely wonderful! The weather in Minnesota this spring has been fairly miserable. We had one nice week (the week my mother was visiting) and besides that it has been cold and dreary. The weatherman said tonight that we have only had one day in the past 3 months where its reached 70! So, I give you that background info. so that you can get a better picture of just how excited I was to leave! We flew to Atlanta the thursday before Easter and stayed through the following Wed. Almost my entire family drove down to Atlanta that Saturday to see us all. It was great to see everyone!
